Yes, for most FOL accounts there is a $50 yearly membership fee. The library does waive this fee for students attending institutions that the library has reciprocal agreements with including Utah Academic Library Consortium members and some other sister institutions. The library also waives this fee for employees of several Utah county school districts and reduces the fee to $10 for high school students attending those same school districts. BYU Alumni are not eligible for fee waivers for Friends of the Library accounts.
