Q. What are "quarto" books? Do they check out?

Quarto books are oversized books which will not fit on the regular library shelving.

They are located on specific shelves labeled "Quarto" throughout the library.

There are usually "quarto" shelves in the area where other books of the same call number range are shelved.

Quarto books may be checked out with the exception of Special Collections Quarto.

These books may be used in the Special Collections Reading Room.  They do not check out.
