Although the BYU Library does not have a direct subscription to The Economist Online, students can access the magazine content for free through databases like Gale and ProQuest or are welcome to visit the library to view print copies

To access The Economist:

  1. Go to the Library's journal/magazine search (https://lib.byu.edu/journals/)
  2. Search for "The Economist" (with out quotes) in the search bar. This should bring up a list of results.
  3. Click on the first result (ISSN 0013-0613). This will take you to another page with three options for accessing the journal.
  4. Click one of the first two options to gain online access to The Economist.
  5. The third option is for the print copies which can be viewed in the BYU library (use the instructions below to locate print copies in the library)

To view print copies:

  1. Go to the Reading Room in the BYU Library (map).
  2. Current issues are on the display shelf.  Past issues can be found under the call number HG 11 .E21x
  3. Visit the Periodicals Helpdesk in the Reading Room for assistance locating the desired issue.
