Q. I heard the Library has viewers and scanners to make digital copies from microfilm or microfiche records. Is this true?
I need to search microfilm newspaper files then get digital copies of articles in the newspaper. Does the Library have machines to read the microfilm then capture specific articles in digital format?
Yes, no more looking at microfilm the old fashioned way! Use one of the digital microfilm reader/scanners in the Religion/Family History & Genealogy area on Level 2.
Search information using a roll of microfilm.
When you locate the item you want; follow the instructions at the scanner for how to use the machine or ask one of the reference assistants at the desk and they will be happy to show you how to use the equipment.
Once you locate the image/section of the microfilm needed, you can quickly create a high resolution scan and save it in a digital format on a flash drive or send it via email.
