Q

Why does my Interlibrary Loan book set off the alarms?

Every time I pick up an Interlibrary loan book, it sets off the alarms, which is awkward and makes me look pretty suspicious.

Answer

Because your book is from another library, we cannot “desensitize” it like we do with our own library books.

To avoid this problem just hand your book to the security guard and they will pass it around the detector.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
