Is there a Research and Writing Center for ESL students in the Library? What are the hours?

I need help finding and documenting resources for my research project. I also need help with my writing.

The ESL (English as a Second Language) Writing Lab has merged with the BYU Writing Center.  ESL students are invited to visit the Research Writing Center in the Library- 3340 HBLL. See hours below. For additional information go to:

Research consultants can help with:

  • Selecting a topic ~ Narrowing a topic 
  • Finding research sources                       
  • Storing and citing your sources
  • Referrals to subject experts to help with additional or specialized research needs

Writing Tutors can help with:

  • Making sure the writing matches the assignment
  • Clarifying, solidifying, and strengthening content
  • Organizing  the text
  • Identifying and working with grammar and usage concerns 
  • Citing sources and following a specific format (e.g., APA)
  • Dealing with writer’s block
  • Discussing document design
  • Revising for stylistic considerations
