Answer

The Ancient Studies Room - Level 5 Central -  includes both Classics and Ancient Near Eastern Studies.

The room houses an impressive collection of texts from Mesopotamia, the Holy Land, Ancient Greece and the Ancient Roman World. There are 18 different languages represented including Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Egyptian, and Arabic.

The collection began largely through the efforts of Hugh Nibley. BYU was also recently received nearly 400 books on the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Qumran Community from Dr. Fredrick Young.

The room is kept locked to protect the rare items inside.  Students or professors wishing to do scholarly research in the Ancient Studies Room should contact the Humanities Help Desk on Level 5 or Mary Chapman (Humanities Reference Specialist) for the access code.
